Bonfire Night is one of the most exciting autumn events in London, with spectacular fireworks displays lighting up the capital throughout late October and early November. The Best Fireworks Displays in London with Kids

Battersea Park Fireworks 2026

What to expect: Battersea Park’s fireworks are among London’s biggest Bonfire Night celebrations, returning for two nights of spectacular fireworks, fairground rides, street food and live entertainment.

Saturday has more of a party atmosphere, with a Rudimental DJ set and Fiesta Latina before the fireworks at 8.30pm. Sunday is more family-orientated, with a Taylor Swift tribute and the spectacular Lords of Lightning show, followed by fireworks at the earlier time of 7pm. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained before the main event. This is the event I will be personally booking this year.

SilverSpoon Tip: I’d choose Sunday if you’re visiting with younger children. The earlier fireworks are much more manageable for little ones, and the entertainment is better suited to families. I’ve not attended personally, but I’ve heard it can get very crowded, so I’d allow plenty of time to arrive and get home afterwards.

Best for: Families looking for a big, spectacular London fireworks display.

Dates: 7–8 November 2026. Fireworks expected at 8.30pm Saturday and 7pm Sunday.

Price: Adults from £18, children aged 5–15 £11.50; under 5s free, but they still need a ticket. Prices vary with ticket release.

Getting there: Battersea Park or Queenstown Road rail stations, or Battersea Power Station Underground.

Booking: Book Saturday or book Sunday. Tickets must be bought in advance.

Alexandra Palace Fireworks & Drone Festival 2026

What to expect: One of London’s most spectacular Bonfire Night celebrations, the Alexandra Palace Fireworks & Drone Festival combines a dazzling fireworks and drone display against the backdrop of London’s skyline with lots of family-friendly activities. There’s a traditional bonfire, marshmallow toasting, ice skating, fairground rides and plenty of food and drink, making this much more than just a fireworks display.

Saturday has more of a festival atmosphere, with a DJ set from Eats Everything and a German Bier Festival. Sunday is designed with families in mind, featuring an earlier fireworks display, a jungle-themed kids’ rave and karaoke. There’s so much entertainment on offer, you could easily make a whole afternoon and evening of it.

SilverSpoon Tip: Choose Sunday if you’re visiting with younger children. The earlier display and family-focused entertainment feel better for little ones. Arrive early to enjoy the activities before the fireworks, and wrap up warm as you’ll be spending plenty of time outdoors.

Best for: Families looking for the full Bonfire Night experience, with fireworks, a traditional bonfire and lots of entertainment.

Dates: 7–8 November 2026; gates open at 4pm.

Price: From £11.50.

Getting there: Alexandra Palace Park, North London.

Booking: Book here. Use code ANGIESILVER10 for 10% off.

Blackheath Fireworks 2026

What to expect: One of South London’s biggest Bonfire Night celebrations, Blackheath Fireworks returns on Saturday 7 November 2026 with a spectacular fireworks display and a whole evening of entertainment on Blackheath Common.

Following its successful return in 2025, the festival promises even more entertainment, fairground rides and food stalls for 2026. The fireworks are the main attraction, but there’s plenty happening before and afterwards, including UK Garage stars DJ Luck & MC Neat, legendary DJ Brandon Block and the spectacular Lords of Lightning electrical show.

There’s also Massaoke, a giant live singalong, the Big Belly Comedy Club and performances from South London Samba, alongside a food village and craft beer. With entertainment running from 5pm until 10pm, this has much more of a festival atmosphere than a traditional fireworks night.

The fireworks themselves take place at 8pm, with the entertainment continuing afterwards.

SilverSpoon Tip: With fireworks at 8pm and a lively festival atmosphere, I’d recommend Blackheath for families with older children rather than toddlers and preschoolers. There’s lots to keep everyone entertained, but expect big crowds and a busy evening. If you’re visiting with younger children, one of London’s earlier fireworks displays might be a better choice.

Best for: Families with older children looking for a spectacular fireworks display and a full evening of entertainment.

Dates: Saturday 7 November 2026; gates open at 5pm, fireworks at 8pm and the event closes at 10pm. Last entry is at 8pm.

Price: Adults aged 16+ £16, children aged 11–15 £10 and children aged 0–10 £5 (general sale prices).

Getting there: Blackheath Common, Southeast London. Public transport is recommended.

Booking: Book tickets here.

Best Early Fireworks Displays in London for Younger Children

Wimbledon Park & Morden Park Fireworks 2026

What to expect: The London Borough of Merton’s popular Fireworks in the Park celebrations return for 2026, with two spectacular evenings of fireworks set to music. Wimbledon Park hosts the celebrations on Bonfire Night itself, Thursday 5 November, followed by Morden Park on Saturday 7 November.

Both events feature two fireworks displays, including an earlier show specifically designed to be more suitable for younger children. There’s also a funfair, street food stalls and bars, making this a fun evening out for the whole family.

New for 2026 is an observation wheel offering views across South London, alongside DJ entertainment. With fireworks choreographed to music and plenty of activities to enjoy beforehand, these are great options for families looking for a traditional Bonfire Night celebration.

SilverSpoon Tip: I’d definitely recommend the earlier 6.45pm display if you’re visiting with younger children. Gates open at 5.15pm, giving you time to enjoy the funfair and grab something to eat before the fireworks. These events are popular and can sell out, so book your tickets in advance.

Best for: Families with toddlers and primary-school children looking for an earlier fireworks display.

Dates:

  • Wimbledon Park: Thursday 5 November 2026.
  • Morden Park: Saturday 7 November 2026.
  • First fireworks display: 6.45pm (more suitable for younger children).
  • Second fireworks display: 8.30pm.
  • Funfair closes: 10pm.

Price: Ticket prices to be confirmed.

Getting there: Wimbledon Park, SW19, or Morden Park, SM4, South London.

Booking: Tickets are available through the London Borough of Merton website. Advance booking is recommended as these events can sell out.

Dulwich Fireworks Display 2026

What to expect: Dulwich Sports Club’s annual fireworks display returns on Saturday 7 November 2026, offering a family-friendly Bonfire Night celebration in South London. This popular fundraising event combines a spectacular fireworks display with live music, food and drink. It’s a great option for families looking for a community get together.

Doors open at 5pm, with live music from 5.30pm until 7pm, featuring Matthew Lynch performing a mixture of crowd favourites and children’s songs. The fireworks are scheduled for approximately 7pm, giving families plenty of time to enjoy the entertainment beforehand without staying out too late.

There’s also a good selection of food and drink available, so you can make an evening of it.

SilverSpoon Tip: The 7pm fireworks make this a good choice for families with younger children. Buggies must be left in designated buggy parks at the entrances, as they’re not permitted in the main spectator area. I’d recommend bringing a baby carrier if needed. There is also no on-site parking, so plan your journey in advance.

Best for: Families looking for a traditional, community-focused fireworks display with live music and children’s entertainment.

Dates: Saturday 7 November 2026; doors open at 5pm, live music from 5.30pm and fireworks at approximately 7pm.

Price: Adults £13, juniors £8 and children under 12 £1. Eventbrite booking fees may apply.

Getting there: Dulwich Sports Club, South London. Access is via Giant Arches off Burbage Road or Turney Road. No on-site parking is available.

Booking: Book tickets via Eventbrite. Tickets must be purchased in advance; none will be available on the night.

Beckenham Charity Fireworks 2026

What to expect: Beckenham Charity Fireworks is a family-friendly Bonfire Night celebration in Southeast London, with two spectacular fireworks displays set to music, a funfair and food and drink. Organised by the 5th Beckenham South Scout Group, this popular community event has been raising money for local charities and good causes since 1946.

A really useful thing about Beckenham Fireworks is that there are two separate displays. The first takes place at 6pm and is a quieter show designed especially for younger children, while the main fireworks display starts at 7.30pm.

Gates open at 4.30pm, giving families plenty of time to enjoy the fairground rides and food stalls before the fireworks begin. There’s a fantastic selection of food, including pizza, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, churros and waffles, alongside bars and sweet treats.

With its family-friendly atmosphere and a dedicated children’s display, this is perfect for celebrating Bonfire Night while supporting local charities.

SilverSpoon Tip: I’d definitely recommend the quieter 6pm display if you’re visiting with toddlers or preschoolers, particularly if they’re nervous about loud noises. Bring some cash, as certain food stalls and fairground rides are cash-only, and there’s no ATM in the park. Booking in advance is recommended.

Best for: Families with younger children, particularly those looking for a quieter, earlier fireworks display.

Dates: Saturday 7 November 2026; gates open at 4.30pm, quieter children’s fireworks at 6pm and main fireworks at 7.30pm.

Price: Check the official booking website for current ticket prices.

Getting there: Croydon Road Recreation Ground, Croydon Road, Beckenham, BR3. Entrances are on Croydon Road and Village Way. Clock House station is approximately an 11-minute walk, while Beckenham Junction is around 15 minutes away.

Booking: Book tickets here.

Free Fireworks Displays in London 2026

Coram’s Fields Fireworks Night 2026

What to expect: If you’re looking for a free, family-friendly fireworks display in central London, Coram’s Fields Fireworks Night is a great option, particularly for families with younger children. Taking place on Bonfire Night itself, this annual celebration combines an early evening fireworks display with live stage performances, fairground rides and food stalls.

Gates open at 3.30pm, giving families plenty of time to enjoy the entertainment before the fireworks light up the sky at 6pm. There’s a really heartwarming element to this event, as Coram’s Fields will broadcast the display to children on the wards at neighbouring Great Ormond Street Hospital, allowing them to share in the celebrations.

Unlike some of London’s larger fireworks festivals, this is a community-focused event in a children’s park, making it an appealing choice for families who want to celebrate Bonfire Night without staying out too late.

SilverSpoon Tip: The 6pm fireworks make this one of my top picks for families with toddlers and preschoolers. However, free general admission is first come, first served, and entry isn’t guaranteed once the park reaches capacity. I’d arrive early to avoid disappointment, or look into the fast-track tickets if you want guaranteed entry.

Best for: Families with babies, toddlers and younger children looking for an early, free fireworks display. Adults can only attend when accompanied by a child.

Dates: Thursday 5 November 2026; gates open at 3.30pm, fireworks at 6pm.

Price: Free general entry; no ticket required.

Getting there: 93 Guilford Street, WC1N 1DN. Russell Square is one of the nearest Tube stations.

Booking: See event details. Optional fast-track tickets offering guaranteed entry were scheduled for release in early October; check the official website for current availability.

Tips for Taking Children to Fireworks Displays

Protect Little Ears

Children’s ear defenders can be useful for the loud noises, particularly for babies and toddlers.

Dress for the Weather

We’re starting to get into the colder months so warm layers, waterproof shoes and gloves are needed. However crowds, hot food and bonfires will keep you toasty.

Plan Your Journey Home

London’s public transport will be crowded especially at the finish. If you’re driving or getting a taxi keep an eye out for road closures.

Consider Whether Your Child Will Enjoy Fireworks

Not every child will enjoy it and some children might find loud noises and crowds overwhelming. There’s no need to force the experience. I know Noah might potentially be scared so I’m very mindful of that.

Final Thoughts on Bonfire Night in London with Kids

There’s something really magical about wrapping up warm, heading out on a crisp autumn evening and watching the sky light up with fireworks. These displays happen over my birthday weekend and I love the idea of introducing this childhood tradition that I had to my own boys.

There are so many fantastic Bonfire Night celebrations taking place across London, that we are actually spoilt for choice.

Personally, while my boys are still young, I’ll be choosing a display with an earlier start time and entertainment aimed at younger children.
