Finding the best children’s party venues in London can feel surprisingly overwhelming, with so many different options for every age, interest and budget. Honestly, it’s one of the most frequently asked questions in the mums chat!
As a London mum of two (aged 3 and 7), I’ve been to a lot of children’s parties in London. I mean a lot. I’ve booked plenty of children’s party venues in London for my own boys and over the years we’ve been guests at everything from soft play and museums to immersive experiences and seriously luxurious hotel parties.
If you’re searching for the best children’s party venues in London my guide is based on places I actually know and experiences I have enjoyed and recommend. Personally, I always try and make sure parents enjoy the party too (some good food and alcohol can help with that!). I’ve included London birthday party venues for kids across different ages, budgets and interests with some structured party packages and some that are ‘blank canvases’.
Hopefully this will make hosting a children’s birthday party in London relatively painless.
Children’s Party Venues in London: Museums & Attractions
National Army Museum
We had Oscar’s 4th birthday here and it was a big hit. One of my favourite birthdays for him actually! The party package is really comprehensive and easy for parents – I actually chose the venue because Oscar’s birthday was only 6 weeks after I gave birth to Noah.
The first hour gives you exclusive use of Play Base, the museum’s brilliant immersive army themed soft play followed by an hour in ‘The Mess’ private party room.
The package includes a dedicated Birthday Party Coordinator, 20 children’s lunchboxes, 20 party bags, tableware, room set-up, a special present for the birthday child and printable invitations and thank-you notes. There is the option to pay for more children.
Lunchboxes include a ham or cheese sandwich, yoghurt, Pom-Bear crisps, a mini flapjack or brownie and juice. We paid for upgrades including a larger room, extra party time, adult food and drinks and a bespoke birthday cake. We also decorated the room and hired an entertainer for the hour that we had it. I will say something that disappointed me a little was the party bags and we went to the museum shop last minute to buy extra stuff for them.
Why I love it: There was very little for us to organise, and having Play Base exclusively for our party felt really special.

The Postal Museum
I’ve never been to a party here but we’re big fans of having a day out at this museum. Children can enjoy the postal themed soft play, ‘Sorted’ and play in the immersive mini-town with streets, buildings, trolleys, pulleys and slides and then take a ride on Mail Rail, London’s secret underground railway (though I warn you this is a little claustrophobic). I think this would be really good for younger children because the entertainment is built into the venue.

Golden Hinde
I’ve been to a few parties at the Golden Hinde, Francis Drake’s ship and it’s a brilliant immersive experience for pirate loving kids. It’s a full size Tudor ship so it’s a really one-of-a-kind experience. Not just a generic room decorated like a pirate ship it actually is one! Children will have a go at raising the anchor,
firing a cannon, singing sea shanties and hunting down a treasure map. Then they enjoy a pizza feast! There’s an entertainer and host, party table set up and digital invites. Extras can be added such as food and drink for adults and a birthday cake.
Why I love it: It’s a proper immersive experience and adventure on a real pirate ship!

HMS Belfast
If your child is a fan of maritime history but fancies something different to a pirate party, then check out the HMS Belfast, a real historic warship. Children can join Captain Cannon, for a top-secret mission to find the animals that have mysteriously vanished across the ship by climbing ladders, peeking into cabins, and sitting in the captain’s chair, while decoding Morse code clues, dodging tricksters, and discovering the history of this incredible warship. Children will explore all nine decks of this incredible warship, uncovering hidden clues.
After the race they can take a seat in the mess deck to enjoy a birthday lunch fit for a sailor! Lunches include your choice of sandwich with crisps, fruit, drinks and a sweet treat. Adults will also get vouchers for teas and coffees at the HMS Belfast cafe.
Why I love it: It’s a real warship and there’s nothing else like it in London.

Mini aviation fans can enjoy a play session in the aviation-themed soft play, AeroPlay before continuing the celebration with food and birthday fun in a dedicated party room. FYI this is not exclusive hire.
Why I love it: As a museum, The RAF Museum is a great all-rounder with lots to see and do for kids including enormous real aircraft displays.

London Zoo
We went to a really cute party at London Zoo a few years ago. Our friends hired a party room, organised an animal experience and then after the party kids were able to explore the zoo with their families.
I’ve not organised a party there, I’ve only attended and there’s not too much info on their website but here’s the basic info:
The Terrace Restaurant

Why I love it: The perfect way to introduce some animal magic to a child’s party.
Battersea Children’s Zoo
I’ve been to a few parties here and it’s a really cute option for much younger children. The theme is animal detectives and children have a guided tour of the zoo based around the idea of the hunt for a missing cabin key. The children will also have the opportunity to get up close with some of the Zoo’s animals before enjoying lunch in the party cabin. Children also get a feeding experience with farm animals, an animal themed craft activity and the birthday child gets to paint a brick on ‘The Birthday Wall of Fame’!
Food including crisps, Cheese sandwich, jelly, raisins , chocolate and juice. Party bags are also included.
Why I love it: Cute animal experiences but smaller and more manageable than London Zoo.

Another great one for small kids and I’ve attended a few cute parties at this small farm in Vauxhall. Families get two hours in the party room with a pizza style lunch, the chance to look around the farm and animal feed. There’s also an option to upgrade to a feeding experience and for party bags.
Why I love it: This is a great, low cost option for very small children and toddlers.

Go Ape
We recently went to a kids party at Go Ape in Battersea, and while I would rather stick needles in my eyes than do Treetop Canopy walks myself, Oscar loved it and I loved the wholesome oudoorsy-ness of it.
Children can choose an activity, add a forest shelter to decorate and celebrate, and top it off with extras like party bags and merch.

Immersive Parties
Hamleys
We recently had a Hamleys party for Oscar’s 7th birthday and honestly it was my favourite party we’ve ever had for him. What child doesn’t want to live out a dream of having the world’s biggest toy shop all to themselves?
Every Sunday, Hamleys is available for private hire from 10am–12pm, giving you all seven floors and 50,000 toys to yourselves before the store opens to the public!
We celebrated Oscar’s birthday there with a red-carpet welcome, bubbles, a magic show, face painting and a Toy Story-themed treasure hunt that took the children around the entire store. After a puppet show, we headed to the café for a Toy Story cake and pizza feast, before meeting the Hamleys Bear and receiving party bags. The most magical moment was Oscar performing the official Hamleys opening ceremony, ringing the bell and welcoming the customers into the store! I loved that the Hamleys team took care of almost everything, making it incredibly special for the children with very little mental load for the parents.

Babylon Park
Babylon Park offers dedicated birthday packages inside its huge underground space-themed amusement park, home to London’s only indoor roller coaster.
Parties can combine time exploring the park’s rides and arcade games with use of a dedicated party space. Adults can remain to supervise without needing to participate in the children’s package, and the birthday child is currently offered free entry as part of its birthday offering.
Why I love it: There is practically zero chance of hearing ‘I’m bored.’ You’ve got rides, arcade games and an indoor theme park all in one place, so it works particularly well for older primary-school children. I will say, be aware that it’s quite over stimulating.

Brigit’s Bakery afternoon tea buses are always brilliant and we are big fans of the Peppa Pig one that gives small children a tour around London while they enjoy Peppa themed treats and games but did you know that you can actually hire it out? Check the website for details.
Why I love it: This works really well for small children but it will be great if the party is multigenerational.

Bubble Planet
Bubble Planet is a great idea for something a bit different. The immersive experience takes children through colourful, bubble-themed rooms and a giant ball pit. A birthday ticket gets a birthday celebration with cake and soft drinks. The VIP birthday ticket gets an added VR experience and a photo keepsake while both get the private space.
Why I love it: The giant ball pit is a highlight for adults and kids!

Paradox Museum
The Paradox Museum London in Knightsbridge is full of optical illusions and mind bending photo opportunities. Admittedly I’m not a huge fan of the museum myself as it’s so busy at the weekend but it does make for a unique party experience – we went to a party there fairly recently. It’s good for slightly older children.
Paradox Museum London offers three structured birthday party packages, all including entry to the museum, the brilliant Zero Gravity Room (my favourite bit!) and 45 minutes of exclusive use of the Dragon’s Nest party room. The Silver Wonder package starts from £31.50 per guest and allows you to bring your own food and cake, while the Golden Paradox package includes sandwiches, cake and soft drinks. The Platinum package includes hot food from nearby Mayfair Chippy as well as cake, drinks and tableware.
Why I love it: It’s a fun and unusual option for older children, with lots of interactive moments and photo opportunities.

Spy Games
For children who love competition, challenges and anything secret-agent themed, SPYGAMES in Covent Garden is a brilliant action-packed option for children’s birthday parties in London. Designed for ages six and over, children work in teams through a series of high-energy spy missions, testing their agility, problem-solving and teamwork as they dodge lasers, crack codes, race against the clock and compete for points on the leaderboard. Despite the age guidance, Noah enjoyed this party too but I wouldn’t specifically have this party for a preschooler.
The SPYGAMES Party Package costs £54 per child with a minimum of 10 guests. It includes 50 minutes of SPYGAMES, followed by 60 minutes in your own private party room with lounge seating, music and dedicated event support. Every child receives a party bag, while the birthday child gets special VIP gifts, and plates, cups, napkins and utensils are provided. Food and drinks aren’t included, but you can bring or arrange your own. We recently had a party here for my nephew and ordered pizza to take into the room.
Why I love it: I think this is a good option once children start to outgrow soft-play parties. It still has all the excitement and energy they want from a birthday, but feels much cooler and more grown-up. The private room afterwards means there’s still time for food and cake!

Soft Play and Play Cafe Parties
Millie and Maisie
One of our favourite soft plays / play cafes in London. There are two floors with the top floor being a cafe and play space with room for an entertainer and the lower floor being entirely a play space. We had Noah’s second birthday here and it was a brilliant choice for a party and they organised the food for us. The cafe is in Clapham and there’s not much info on the website so contact them directly for more information.
Why I love it: The intimate and friendly feel and the pastel aesthetic.
Apple Tree Cafe
The Apple Tree Café is a brilliant choice for younger children. There’s a welcoming family-friendly café with plenty to keep little ones entertained. It works especially well for toddler and preschool birthdays where you want a relaxed environment rather than an overwhelming party venue. Parents can enjoy the café while the children play and celebrate, making it a really easy option too. It’s ideal for a laid-back, low stress birthday that still feels special.

Roam
Roam is a beautifully designed play space and cafe. Children have plenty of opportunity for imaginative and active play, while the stylish surroundings make it somewhere adults will actually enjoy spending time too and the cafe serves great coffee! It’s particularly well suited to younger children and preschool birthday parties but older siblings won’t feel out of place.

Macaroni Penguin is one of London’s posher soft plays and is a great option for a smaller kids party. You get exclusive use of the entire space which is a bespoke indoor playground and soft play with a large seating area for food and drink.

I’ve been to a few parties at the Sheriff Centre, it’s quite a quirky venue as it’s a soft play in a church. The venue is located in West Hampstead and is available for private hire on Sunday afternoons. Contact them for more details.
Foodie Parties
Pizza Express
My nephew had a Pizza Express party a few years ago and it was such a success, it’s a real win / win option as the kids will love the pizza making class and parents can sit, eat pizza and drink wine!
Little foodies will love the hands-on experience of cooking and eating the pizza! Children get to become pizzaiolos for the day, wearing their chef hats before learning how to make their own pizza, choosing their toppings and enjoying their creations afterwards. It’s super convenient as there are branches of Pizza Express all over London.
Why I love it: This is a really low stress, hassle-free option. A good choice for primary-school children and groups of friends who all want to get involved.

Biscuiteers
My boys love decorating biscuits and Biscuiteers offers beautifully creative children’s biscuit decorating parties at its London icing café in Notting Hill. Children are taught icing techniques before getting creative decorating their own biscuits, which they can then take home – which saves the hassle of buying party bags! Kids also receive a Biscuiteers apron and certificate of ‘Biscuiteers Icing Brilliance’ to take away.
The interiors are really pretty and the party feels special without being overly formal. I actually had my baby shower in a Biscuiteers cafe! You can add on a little afternoon tea too!
Why I love it: It’s a great choice for children who enjoy crafts, baking and anything creative. It’s also one of those brilliant children’s party venues that parents will love too.

Polka Theatre
Polka Theatre is a wonderful birthday option for children who love stories, theatre and imaginative play. You can build the celebration around seeing one of its fantastic children’s productions, making the birthday itself feel like a real occasion. Its dedicated focus on theatre for children means everything about the experience is designed with young audiences in mind.
The full children’s party package consists of:
- A private room just for the party guests for 2.5 hrs
Use of one of studio spaces.
- 1 hr entertainment led by a Polka Party Host & Assistant

I love the idea of a pottery cafe party and Bon Bon Pottery is such a lovely venue. There’s a few around London but Oscar has been to the one at Battersea. Each guest can paint a ready-made pottery item of their choice (up to £30 value).

Little Angel Theatre
Located in Islington, the Little Angel Theatre would make a great option for a creative children’s birthday party in London especially for younger children. The small theatre is especially well known for its cute puppet shows and the parties are themed accordingly. There are various different packages offered:
The Imagination Train is a 30-minute sensory puppet adventure for ages 1–3 and up to 15 children, costing £475, or £600 for the enhanced All Aboard! package including an additional part of the adventure and party bags.
For ages 4–9, the Krafty Party (£450) includes a 60-minute puppet-making workshop, all materials and a visit from Krafty the Fox.
There are also MasterChef Mo and the Missing Cake parties for ages 3–6.
Guardians of Fire Isle for ages 6–8, combining puppetry with games and interactive storytelling. Parties can be held at Little Angel Studios or brought to your own London venue.

We love having membership to Jesse’s House in Parsons Green which is a stylish family members’ club designed with both children and parents in mind (very SilverSpoon-coded).
We’ve also attended a few brilliant birthday parties there. And there are a few different packages:

While the party is focussed on the child with entertainment and soft play or swimming, parents can enjoy the aesthetic vibes of the club house – it’s sort of like being in a luxury hotel that isn’t a luxury hotel. And it’s very little organisation for parents! Jesse’s House is part of the OurHouse group of private members clubs, we’ve also been to parties at sister venue Jaego’s House which is a great option for toddlers.
Why I love it: I feel fancy but still very child-centred. There’s loads of additional extras to make a party feel really special such as ice cream parlour, sweet station, glow bar.

Cloud Twelve
Years ago we were members at this gorgeous family club in Notting Hill that combines kids facilities with wellness features for adults. We’ve also attended a few parties here!
It has a more luxurious and intimate feel than your average kids party venue. Its dedicated children’s areas provide a colourful and imaginative setting for celebrations, with parties that can incorporate activities and entertainment alongside food and the traditional cake moment. Parties are completely bespoke with lots of options for theming and immersive adventures. There’s a dedicated parents room throughout the party too and the party can be fully catered with vegetarian food. I’ve attended parties here for older children but personally I think it’s more suited as a venue for under 5s.

Luxury Hotels and Restaurants
I’ve been lucky enough to be invited to some seriously luxurious parties at amazing hotels including Bulgari Hotel London, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Peninsula London and the Berkeley. They’re ideal if you want a beautiful high end setting (which of course come with an appropriately high price tag!) with the option of hiring a large private event space such as the ballroom. This allows you to create something completely bespoke such as a fairground, circus or take the kids into outer space (I have actually been to a party like this!).
Party packages, spaces, capacities and availability can be found on request.
Some of London’s slightly more ‘accessible’ hotels are also brilliant options for parties.
Ham Yard Hotel
We held a family party at the Ham Yard Hotel a few years ago, it’s a great option (especially for teens) as one of the rooms has a bowling alley. Exclusive hire is for up to 250 people but you can also book the lanes for an hour or two with the ‘Bowling Experience’ package, or opt for the ‘Strike Special’, which includes a selection of snacks and drinks too.
Available for up to 16 guests. Children must be over the age of 10. Anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cento, 100 Queen’s Gate
We loved Cento so much as a party venue, it’s actually the only place that we’ve used twice. The restaurant space is gorgeous, bright and airy and can easily be divided into a children’s area and an adult area. As it’s a restaurant the food is really good too! The room is a great ‘blank canvas’ for bringing in your own entertainment and as a space has always worked really well for us. Though the miniumum spend looks high, it’s actually pretty decent compared to other luxury London hotels, and there’s no room hire fee which is an absolute bonus!

Beaufort House
We held Oscar’s 2nd birthday party at Beaufort House, so it’s a really special place to us. The four-floor brasserie is stylish but still provides a brilliant blank canvas. We turned it into an under the sea themed party!
There are three private rooms varying in capacity which can be styled in your child’s ideal theme. The venue provides the food and it’s really good.
The Club Room 1st Floor: Up to 40 children + 40 adults
Room hire from £450 + £750 minimum spend
The Private dining room: Up to 20 children + 15 adults
Room hire from £300 + £500 minimum spend
The Champagne Bar 3rd floor: Up to 25 children + 30 adults
Room hire from £400 + £500 minimum spend.

Once you’ve found the perfect venue, these are a few of my favourite children’s party suppliers in London that I’ve personally used and would recommend.
Sharky & George – My top recommendation for overall party organisation and entertainment. I honestly can’t recommend them enough and I’ve used them for several parties. I genuinely think if you invest in the entertainer children will have a brilliant time. Any time I’ve seen Sharky & George at an event or party the organiser can completely relax as they take charge of the fun and keep the children completely engaged.
Dazzle & Fizz – Another great option for party planning and entertainment, with lots of different themes and experiences that can be tailored to your child and celebration. They can provide just a few elements or organise the whole thing! They did the entertainer, balloons and photographer for Oscar’s 3rd birthday.
Bubblegum Balloons – My absolute go-to for beautiful balloons and statement balloon installations both at home and for parties.
Cakes by Robin – Gorgeous bespoke celebration cakes that look incredibly special and can be designed around any party theme. Robin created my wedding favours and I have used her service so many times over the years for Oscar’s Peter Rabbit cake, Numberblock cake and under the sea cake!
Captain Fantastic – Brilliant children’s entertainers with a wide choice of themed parties and activities. We had a brilliant Science themed party with them for Oscar’s 4th birthday. They also have Super Hero, Princess and Pirate for example.
Kats Films – Kat has been my favourite photographer for years and always the person I go to first. She beautifully captured special moments so you can actually enjoy the celebration rather than spending the whole party behind your phone. The images from Cento, Millie & Maisie and Hamleys in this blog post are all by Kat.
