Modern Luxury
These are some of London’s newer hotels with more modern decor and style.

The Four Seasons Tower Bridge also offers a different location perspective and has spacious rooms and family friendly extras.
The Peninsula – Another uber luxury hotel that is also very child-friendly. I took Noah here for breakfast and he was treated like an absolute prince! Though the Peninsula is a iconic brand the hotel is still quite new to London and is quite honestly one of the most luxurious hotel’s going! It’s classic British in style with a transport theme running through it due to the Brooklands theme. There’s a 50% discount on a connecting room for children under 12 (up to two children per room) and children’s amenities such as bathrobes and welcome treats. The hotel also runs the ‘Children’s Adventure Quest’ which allows children to play secret agents for the day. We’re big fans of the Cantonese restaurant and there’s also a children’s afternoon tea.

There’s a 50% discount on a second room for children, plus a complimentary buffet breakfast.

The Rosewood London is an absolutely gorgeous hotel with a building that dates back to 1912 preserving many original features. The hotel offers rooms for two adults and two children (up to 16 years old) in a suite with the second bedroom complimentary, or in family room with 50% off the second bedroom. The hotel also provides personalised amenitities for children. The hotel’s stunning ‘Art Afternoon Tea’ also has a children’s version.

Corinthia – The Corinthia is a hotel that my family have favoured for years and we’ve spent both Christmas and Boxing Day there. Like many London hotels it has a interesting history, opening in 1885 as a grand hotel and later used by the Ministry of defence. Guests can book two rooms with enjoy 50% off the second, connecting or nearby. Adults will receive a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Héritage Champagne and little guests are given cute gifts. The hotel’s Westminster location is very convenient for exploring some of London’s major attractions.

Raffles London at the OWO – Raffles London is another new hotel that is nothing short of stunning. The classic brand (originating in Singapore) opened in 2023 in a historic building known as the Old War Office and is associated with figures such as Winston Churchill. With nine restaurants there’s no shortage of choice – I recommend Paper Moon with kids and Kioku by Endo for a date night. The hotel also has the book a room and the second room is 50% off or book a suite and the second room is complimentary offer. There’s champagne for adults and special amenities for kids including the signature Winston the Lion cuddly. Even dogs are welcome!

Art’Otel – Has a brilliant location next to Battersea Power Station and all the shops, restaurants and attractions offered there. We loved the hotel’s own restaurant, JOIA Restaurant which celebrates the best of Portuguese and Iberian cuisine and has a stunning view of the Power Station. The hotel was fun kids’ packs with colouring in and puzzles plus locally inspired art activities for children. All restaurants have children’s menus and breakfasts.

The rooftop pool on the 16th floor is a major selling point!
Taj 51 Buckingham Gate – Taj 51 is a great location near Buckingham Palace and Westminster. The hotel also offers a bespoke Harry Potter Experience.

Location: 51 Buckingham Gate , SW1E 6AF
Conrad London St James – For me the perfect hotel location just steps away from Big Ben, Westminster and then around 15 minutes walk from the London Eye. Though without the opulence of some of London’s grand dames the Conrad is still a high level of luxury and service. Families can enjoy a family room with bed and breakfast, a personalised storybook, themed treats and unlimited access to a children’s library. There’s a Little Londoners package with bed and breakfast and Bottomless Bollinger Afternoon Tea along with the children’s afternoon tea experience. This is one of the best afternoon teas for children that I’ve done with Oscar. The hotel’s Blue Boar Pub is family friendly and has a kids menu.

Location: 22-28 Broadway London SW1H 0BH United Kingdom
Nobu Portman – I don’t think that Nobu is somewhere that people immediately think of a being family-friendly but the hotels are actually very family-focussed. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast for the whole family, guaranteed connecting rooms, special welcome amenities for children (bathrobes, slippers, toys) and baby essentials like cots, bottle warmers, and strollers. Of course, Nobu is most known for its famous restaurants and the quality here is exceptional. But when dining with the family I really recommend the weekend brunch which has entertainment from Sharky and George on selected days.

Location: 22 Portman Square, London W1H 7BG.
One Aldwych – This modern hotel on the fringe of Covent Garden has always been a favourite of mine. The hotel offers lots of different room configurations for families. There’s child-friendly dining with the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea being a highlight, there’s a chlorine-free pool complete with music and exotic fish projections. (not suitable for babies under 12 months).
Pan Pacific Hotel – Is in the city centre but still manages to be an oasis of wellness and calm. It’s a hotel that certainly embraces families. Singa Cub Club is the children’s programme, designed to give thoughtful experiences around the hotel. Children receive a Singa the Lion cuddly, the opportunity for an in room movie experience, a visit to Singa’s Little Atelier to choose a bespoke outfit for their Singa teddy, an activity booklet, a gorgeous safari-themed teepee set up.
There’s a children’s concierge, children’s spa treatments plus children aged 6 and under eat free at Straits Kitchen while children aged 7 to 12 have 50% off. A really selling point is the hotel’s roof top pool which offers family swim hours. The Pan Pacific would be a great choice for a luxury family hotel in London
Location: 80 Houndsditch, London, EC3A 7AB, United Kingdom
Quirky
Treehouse House – If you’re looking for something a bit different, I really recommend the Treehouse Hotel. The design is really playful and gives a sense of childhood nostalgia being inspired by the of a treehouse with nest style views. The sweeping views over London are stunning and the hotel will appeal to people looking for something more quirky and less traditional. The hotel offers one overnight stay for a family of up to four in connecting rooms or up to five in a connecting Clubhouse Suite & Lookout Twin room. Including breakfast in Californian-Mexican restaurant, Madera at Treehouse (I’m a big fan of the restaurant for dinner too), a children’s teepee set up, milk and cookies, children’s bathrobe and slippers (I’m a sucker for a baby bathrobe), colouring books, bathroom amenitities.

Smaller, intimate hotels.
Beaverbrook Townhouse – This stylish Chelsea Townhouse, home to only 14 suites offers a family sleep over package. The accommodation has a 50% discount on a second room, there’s daily à la carte breakfast in The Fuji Grill, and special welcome amenities for the children. We loved how family-friendly the hotel’s sister manor house property was.
The Ampersand – Is a beautifully quirky Small Luxury Hotel with fun and bright decor. The South Kensington location makes the hotel within easy reach of the ‘big’ museums including the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and V & A plus the Royal Albert Hall. With these famous neighbours, the hotel offers two afternoon teas to appeal to children, the Jurassic Afternoon Tea and The Science Afternoon tea (I’ve tried both in the interests of research!). The hotel offers different room configurations to suit families and excitingly is soon launching a Science Family Suite offers an immersive experience where space-inspired design meets imagination.

There is also a games room for guests with ping pong table, board games and books for families.
Location: 10 Harrington Road, London, SW7 3ER
