The Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea London Sightseeing Bus Tour by Brigit’s Bakery is one of the experiences that I’m asked about most!
My little boys are Peppa Pig mad but this is an experience that rather cleverly appeals both to adults and children. I’ve actually take the tour twice, yes I liked it that much! This is one of the pricier experiences for children in London so it’s worth knowing is it really worth it?

What is the Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus?
Run by Brigit’s Bakery as part of a collaboration with Hasbro, and Entertainment One this experience gives the unique opportunity for you and your little ones to eat Peppa Pig themed treats on a decorated vitage double decker Routemaster whilst seeing the iconic sights of central London.
We arrived for the bus at Somerset House bus stop, make sure you’re early as the bus does not wait for you plus you don’t want to miss the opportunity to get some cute photos in front of the bus.

The tea takes place on one of London’s old fashioned double decker Routemaster buses which in itself is a special experience. The outside of the bus is fully Peppa Pig themed and you seriously can’t mistake it! We had actually booked it as a treat for Noah’s 2nd birthday and it really does have special occasion vibes. The bus only allows children over 2 so taking the bus tour marked a significant coming of age moment for Noah. Its actually quite a perfect treat for toddlers as most of the other Brigit’s Bakery tea buses don’t allow children under 5. Many families may choose to do is as a special first afternoon tea.
When it was time to board the bus, the hosts were extremely efficient about getting everyone on and we were soon all aboard.
We stepped inside the bus and you have the option of sitting downstairs or upgrading to upstairs for a better view. I’ve only ever sat upstairs as I don’t think you see the London sights quite so well from downstairs.

You can further upgrade to VIP and sit at the front of the bus but (top tip!!) I actually don’t think these seats are as good as the normal ones!
Inside the bus is brightly coloured mimicking the artwork from the Peppa Pig show, the ceiling is painted like a blue sky with clouds and the sun and there’s pictures of London monuments on the walls. The VIPs seats are two by two and the other tables can fit four people around in a cafe style set up. Rather efficiently all the food is already laid out on the table (more on that later!)

Every table has a built-in tablet to enhance the experience with a Peppa Pig guided animation of the London tour and there are sing-a-long songs and interactive elements featuring Peppa and her friends. Every child gets a Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Tour Activity Book which that can start on the bus and take home with them.

The Experience
The journey begins as the bus heads down Embankment and children can gaze out the window and see the most famous London sights such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Nelson’s Column, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral and The London Eye. It’s a really accessible way for a child to take a tour as they can enjoy the full explanation from the Peppa video.

A hot drink can be ordered for everyone. Of course the boys had hot chocolate and of course mum and dad had coffee! The hot drink comes in this cute Peppa Pig travel cup which you get to take home with you too. And if you were wondering, we managed not to spill any despite being on a moving bus.
Worry not… you can order alcohol… we got a half bottle of sparkling wine. I told you parents would enjoy this too! And as we enjoyed the sights an onboard entertainer kept the children engaged with songs, games and quizzes. It feels really fun and welcoming… exactly the spirit that you would expect on a Peppa Pig bus!
The Food
Now for the thing I bet you’re really wondering about… the food! Honestly, I’ve seen a few negative opinions but I personally I really enjoyed it and that’s coming from someone who has tried approximately a million afternoon teas!
We choose the classic Peppa Pig afternoon tea but there is a halal version, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free so they can accommodate lots of different dietary requirements.

Freddy Fox’s Egg & Cress sandwich
Mandy Mouse’s Cheddar Cheese sandwich
Grandpa Pig’s Chicken & Tomato burger bun
Madame Gazelle’s Veggie Crudité & Breadsticks with hummus
Daddy Pig’s Pizza mini margherita
Daddy’s Pig’s pizza was the favourite and we were even given seconds.
The hosts bring round warm fluffy scones in a basket to your seats along with cream and jam ensuring they are completely fresh.

Of course the highlight for the little ones are the homemade cakes and pastries.

These included:
Peppa Pig’s Cookie Shortbread
Suzy Sheep’s Chocolate Truffle Sprinkled with confetti
Mummy Pig’s Strawberry Macaron with strawberry flavoured vanilla butter cream
George’s Seasonal Fruit Tart with crème pâtissière
Rebecca Rabbit’s Carrot Cupcake with a cream cheese topping
Of course my boys loved the Peppa Pig face cookie and honestly even if it wasn’t tasty (and it was!) They would have gobbled down that pig’s face!

All in all, we loved this experience as a whole family. It’s a fun and unique thing to do and a way to spoil your toddler on their birthday!
