Our engagement party at Beaufort House in Chelsea

It was one of the happiest days of my life was when my Mr Silver proposed to me on Boxing Day in Sydney. You can read about his wonderfully romantic proposal here.

When we got home from our dream trip to Australia we wanted to celebrate our future marriage with all of our fantastic friends by throwing a big engagement bash.

Our location of choice was the gorgeous private member’s club Beaufort House in Chelsea. There are four floors in the club and each space can cater to different needs. Mr Silver and I loved the champagne penthouse which was chic and sophisticated while being cosy and intimate at the same time. The cast of Made in Chelsea have parties there too!
We felt that it was important to make our party really personal to us as a couple, and to make sure our guests had a wonderful time. I’d met the very lovely Robin Campbell, of Cakes by Robin, at a wedding fair and sampled some of her delicious cookies. For something a bit different I asked Robin to create us Save the Dates in the form of tasty vanilla flavour cookies.

As you can see Robin did not disappoint. So many people commented to me on how wonderful these biscuits were. Robin is a talented lady!
You can see more of her wonderful treats and cakes here.
I also wanted a cake that looked really unique but tasted great. I’ve used The Cake Store before and I knew that could come up with a wonderful and fun creation.
Here’s the finished product! Something a little different!
Mr Silver and I put together a presentation film to run on the plasma screen so that our friends could relive happy memories that we’d spent with them.
Here’s Mr Silver’s brother and sister and you can see the film behind our heads!! I’m feeding a wallaby in the picture.
To make sure our friends had even more fun we held a cocktail hour, choosing some of Beaufort house’s most popular cocktails including passion fruit martini, ginger mule and mojito. The passion fruit was particularly popular.

Check out the number of passion fruit filled glasses!

We personalised the cocktail menus with pictures of ourselves to add another special touch.

The party was on the 23rd of March 2013, so we were very surprised that a snow storm nearly stopped it from going ahead but the sun came through the snow and most of our friends made it to our very special occasion.

Beaufort House was an excellent place for the party, they served plenty of canapes and provided us with a fantastic DJ. The venue ideal if you’re looking for a private room in the heart of Chelsea, whatever the occasion. Rather wonderfully they also gave us free membership as an engagement present.

And what about the ring, I hear you ask 😉

Here it is

Mr Silver chose the diamond and had the ring designed especially for me. Of course, I love it!!

My wedding is on the 18th May 2014 and watch this space for more posts in the build up to the big day!
