The Best Things to Do in London with Kids for March / April and The Easter Holidays 2026

As a London mum of two boys (aged 6 and 2) I keep my finger on the pulse of fun things to do with kids. If you’re looking for the best things to do with children in London for the Easter holidays (March/ April) 2026, well you’ve come to the right place. In April London offers a mix of fun indoor adventures and outdoor discoveries perfect for when the weather can’t make up it’s mind!

Festivals

Spring Family Fun – a festival of fun and creativity for families at the Southbank Centre includes super shows, musical adventures, amazing puppetry and lots of free fun in the Easter break. Also worth visiting is the REPLAY: A Limitless Recycled Playground – a play space made out of repurposed materials (£7.50).

Peppa Pig’s egg-stra special Easter Afternoon Tea Bus Tour – Every day this Easter a Peppa Pig themed afternoon tea will be run with special Easter travel cup and Easter Egg hunt activity on a London bus.

British Library – Fairy Tales, a new interactive exhibition which explores enchanted lands, magical creatures, iconic characters and timeless tales, through books, costumes, puppets, pop-ups, artwork and illustrations from some of the UKs most beloved writers.

Tower Bridge – Easter family activities on Tuesday 31 March, Tuesday 7 April and Saturday 11 April 2026. Discover phenakistoscopes, the original animations that came before cartoons and GIFs. Create your own phenakistoscope of another Victorian icon – Tower Bridge!

Tower of London – Duke and Disorderly; It’s 1826 and the Duke of Wellington has been made Constable of the Tower and it’s a place that resembles more of an ramshackle town than the site we know today. Discover some of the more eclectic characters connected to the Tower’s history and early 19th century London through their weird and wonderful jobs.

The Royal Mews – Various Easter events are being held at the Royal Mews such as an ‘Easter Egg Expedition’ and Easter Egg painting. On the 4th, 5th and 6th April storytelling sessions are running

London Eye – Something both Oscar and I would love. Build your own bunch of LEGO® Botanicals Daisies whilst your host guides your journey in a London Eye pod, highlighting London’s beautiful spring sights. Includes two rotations on the Eye.

Outdoor Attractions

London Wetland Centre – Fun-filled wetland adventure with Gozzle the gosling from Julia Donaldson and Sara Ogilvie’s picture book. Follow the interactive trail to discover what it takes Gozzle to become a grown-up goose. Additionally kids can also enjoy the Vet Check experience.

Kew Gardens – Octonauts Above and Beyond. This Easter, join the Octonauts on an exciting outdoor mission at Kew Gardens. An interactive trail that invites young explorers to complete challenges, discover facts and learn how to protect our planet.

London ZooLondon Zoo’s Zoonormous Eater Egg Hunt. Kids are invited to explore London Zoo on a special Easter egg hunt, searching for six giant Easter eggs hidden around the park. Each egg reveals a secret letter and a riddle to solve and at the end there’s a chocolate prize! In addition there is arts and crafts activities and Easter Bunny crowns.

Vauxhall City Farm – Easter hunt and crafting such as bonnet making.

Chelsea Physic Garden – Easter trail inspired by folk lore. This was one of the first Easter trails that I took Oscar on and it’s a very gentle ‘first trail’.

Kenwood House – Family Easter Makes. Family workshop making beautiful Easter nests. Drop in from 11am – 2pm.

Mundo Pixar – The Mundo Pixar Experience allows fans to actually step inside their favourite Pixar Films. There are 14 Pixar Universes with over 25 sculptures – allowing for lots of photo opportunities of course. 

Did you know that Pixar was founded 40 years ago? Making it part of my childhood too, the first ever feature film being Toy Story which is also first fully computer-animated feature film.

As well as Toy Story (and a visit to Andy’s Room) guests can explore recreated ‘sets’ from Monsters Inc, Cars, Finding Nemo, Inside Out and many more. Each with details designed, music and even scents making it a fully immersive sensory experience.

Paddington Bear Experience – Step into Paddington’s world with an adventure through London and Peru! We explored interactive sets with live performances, and themed activities inspired by everyone’s favourite bear. For Easter there is an Easter Egg hunt through Windsor Gardens and an Easter basket of treats.

SeaLIFE – London’s Biggest Aquarium plays host to an immersive experience based around Animal Crossing.

Battersea Power Station – Various activities including Elephant trail, bumper cars, bungees, giant egg at the LEGO store. Running every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 30th March – 10th April families can meet Peppa at the Peppa Pig store, enjoy a special reading of Peppa Comes to London, and then ascend 109 metres in the glass Chimney Lift to take in panoramic views across the London

Young V & A – One of London best museums for children is currently running a brilliant exhibition.‘ Inside Aardman: Wallace and Gromit and Friends‘ goes behind the scenes of the famous stop motion show casing how the classic characters are bought to life.

Hornimann Museum – New exhibition ‘Voyage to the Deep – Underwater Adventures.’ Inspired by Jules Verne’s ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Seas’, families are invited to board the legendary ‘Nautilus’ submarine and discover on an underwater adventure. Includes an Octonauts adventure trail.

Royal Museums Greenwich – There’s lots going on in Greenwich around the Easter Holidays.

The Cutty Sark are running an Easter Egg hunt over Easter weekend (3–6 April) with an Easter egg trail for the whole family! Follow the trail to spot hidden eggs around the ship. Collect the letters on each egg and unscramble the secret nautical code.

London Transport Museum – Future London, What will London look like in 100 years and how might we travel?

Crafting such as build your own futuristic vehicle using recycled materials, design the skyline of tomorrow and meet time-travelling artist Montague Black.

The Globe is running family workshops bringing Shakespeare’s plays to lift Twelfth Night are running for 5 – 8 year olds. Using a range of activities and games designed to draw out elements of the play’s language, characters and themes.

There’s is also Ghosts & Ghouls Family Tour, a special family-friendly guided tour of the Globe Theatre which brings to life the ghosts, spirits and scary occurences in Shakespeare’s most chilling plays.

Restaurants and Dining

The Ivy Restaurants are hosting breakfast with the Easter bunny 3rd April – 5th April. Children will receive an Ivy Easter Bunny, plus bunny ears to dress up and a themed activity sheet. Families can enjoy a delicious set breakfast.

TOZI Restaurant & Bar is Victoria Free Spaghetti Bolognese & Gelato children under the age of 12 with any accompanying adult ordering a minimum of two courses from 30th March – 10th April. TOZI is perfect for relaxed, sociable dining with rustic cicchetti and delicious pasta dishes designed for sharing.

The Guess How Much I Love You afternoon tea at Lanes of London at the Marriott Park Lane has the perfect London setting with classic views of a red phone box, double decker buses, Hyde Park and Marble Arch. 

The tea itself is inspired by the classic children’s book ‘Guess how much I love you’ which follows the tale of Little and Big Nutbrown Hare. And the experience includes references from the story throughout. 

The Nest at the Treehouse – Reading of the The Bunnies of Hoppity Hill and Rosie Tells Tales, interactive storyteller session plus crafts.

Legoland Windsor – Easter activities with rides and attractions to explore, plus brick building challenges, workshops, and character meet ups.

Hampton Court – Hosts the famous Easter Lindt Gold bunny hunt. Walk through the gardens, looking for elusive Lindt GOLD BUNNY statues peeking out from daffodils. There’s chocolate prize at the end.

Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour – It’s really easy to get to from central London as you can catch a train to Watford Junction from Euston which only take 20 minutes and then there’s a free shuttle right outside the station. Otherwise you can book a package with a coach transfer. It’s really important to book in advance as tickets sell out really quickly. Until 27th April the experience has a Magical Mischief feature where guests can discover some of the most amazing trickery from the film.

Chessington World Of Adventures:  Meet Bonnie the Easter Bunny and enjoy everything in the park from thrilling Theme Park rides to animals at the Zoo and fun at SEA LIFE. There’s also a giant Easter egg trail.

Warwick Castle – Have a family adventure at Warwick Castle with over 15 spectacular live shows and attractions. Little dragons can take part in Zog’s Easter Adventure, featuring both live shows, the Zog Playland, the Quest for the Gold Star trail and even the chance to meet Zog and Princess Pearl.
