London Family Photographer

I’m very excited to share with you a selection of Autumnal photos as part of a collaboration with an incredible and much trusted London family photographer, Rachel Ragheb of Photography by Rachel .

I first met Rachel when I gave birth to Oscar at the Lindo Wing, the famous private wing of St Mary’s Hospital, best known for being where Princess Diana and Princess Katherine had their children.

I vividly remember the first time I met Rachel, it was less than 24 hours after my c-section with Oscar. I hadn’t moved from bed yet, hadn’t showered and certainly wasn’t wearing make up. Rachel came to our room and honestly in all the excitement of having Oscar, I’d forgotten I’d even arranged a photographer. My immediate reaction was ‘don’t take photos of me, I look awful – just take my husband and the baby’ – but Rachel’s kind and reassuring manner meant I was coaxed into participating in the shoot (after a rushed make up application). And of course, I’m so glad that did.

She even came back a few days later (free of charge!) to get some more photos of us in front of the hospital on the iconic Lindo Wing steps.

The photos themselves were some of my all time favourites, incredibly high quality photography with perfect composition – despite being mostly shot inside a hospital room! I also loved the presentation case and album that they came in. Needless to say I arranged for Rachel to come back when we had Noah again at the Lindo Wing. As Noah was intensive care the photos were taken about a week later and once again I was blown away first by Rachel’s kind manner at the shoot and then by the photos themselves.

Oscar and Noah’s births were the two most important events of my life and I feel so lucky to have had Rachel there to capture them. As a content creator I work frequently with photographers and it’s important to have a rapport with them so that the photographs are natural and the session is relaxed – and this rapport is something that came very easily with Rachel.

With that said I was delighted to collaborate with her to produce some gorgeous Autumnal photos. Don’t you think Autumn is the best season for photography? The fallen leaves, the golden sunlight… its pure magic.

Rachel suggested Fulham Palace, a location that was new to me but it really was quite perfect for getting those golden brown photos with the fallen leaves and nature shoots.

Fulham Palace is a historic house and botanical garden in West London and has history dating back 1300 years as the former home of the bishops of London.

It’s actually a great place to come with kids as there’s a playground, family trails and gardening clubs for children.

Rachel and I spent a good few hours wondering the grounds of Fulham Palace and we found some gorgeous spots for photography.

Rachel specialises in getting photos in natural light and the day was just perfect for our photoshoot.

While Rachel continues to be the trusted family photographer at the Lindo Wing, she is also available for lifestyle shoots like this as well as events.
