Christmas is over for another year but I love recording what I got up to over the festive period on this blog. That’s the thing I love most about blogging, I’ll be able to look back at those wonderful days that we had as a family and have the memories recorded forever! I hope my memories are of some interest to you too!
On Christmas Eve I popped over to Jen’s flat – it’s a very exciting year as it’s Jackson’s first Christmas. I mean he won’t remember it but that doesn’t mean we’re not excited to shower him with presents!
Charlie cracked into his Christmas Eve box (which was featured in the Daily Mail) and noshed on a giant gingerbread man while we played his new Emoji card game and read his personalised Christmas Eve book.
Jackson had a few cuddles with granny before it was time for the boys to go to bed!
Mr S and I indulged in an annual Christmas Eve tradition of heading to the beautiful Goring Hotel which is just around the corner from where we live! The hotel is best known for being the place where Kate Middleton spent the night before the wedding!
The next day, Santa had well and truly been and Charlie ripped into his presents – I got him a BB8 from Star Wars but his main present was a Nintendo Switch. Mr S got me a gorgeous Chloe Pixie bag, which later spotted on Meghan Markle herself, whilst I got him a Burberry jacket.
Jackson had cuddles with Grandad and Charlie.
Mr S read his Ladybird book of Husbands.
Before also getting some cuddles in.
Then it was my turn to hug these two little puddings!!
For the past few years we’ve had a tradition of going for Christmas lunch at a hotel and this year was no exception. As a family we all love Corinthia Hotel London which always has a welcoming environment and delicious food.
Crackers pulled and champagne poured (there’s unlimited Champagne Laurent-Perrier!!), we sat done to eat the delicious bread and to peruse the menu.
But before we could get into ordering… someone very special arrived and Charlie’s eye lit up as Santa made his appearance. (Spoiler it was Lego).
We ate at The Corinthia for Boxing Day last year, and one thing we love is that you’re not just stuck with festive set menu. There’s plenty of choice meaning I could opt for a light beetroot starter whereas Ms S had a lobster cocktail…
And Charlie had plenty of choice from the kids menu.
For the soup course you could choose between artichoke or lobster bisque.
Main course was beef, salmon or traditional turkey. Needless to say, everyone stuck with tradition. And as well as bottomless champagne, the waiters kept topping up our wine glasses too.
Dessert is an unlimited buffet too so although Christmas lunch at The Corinthia is pricey, you can truly get your money’s worth.
All there was left to do was a little posing in front of The Corinthia’s gorgeous Christmas tree!!
Before donning our hats and heading home for an after of fun and board games!
What did you get up to on Christmas day?
