Murakami: A Cute Sushi Restaurant in London

When I first started blogging I had no idea that there was such a fantastic and tight-knit community of bloggers. I now communicate with my blogging buddies on a daily basis via Twitter and Instagram…sometimes I think I talk more to people on Twitter than I do in real-life… One of my favourite bloggers is Emma from Adventures of a London Kiwi. Emma is both a fantastic blogger and lovely person; she’s the co-founder of the travel link up and a travel-lover, brunch queen and Kiwi princess. I love Emma’s blog and it’s always great to meet up with someone as obsessed with blogging as I am. For our lunch Emma suggested a sushi restaurant in London that I’d never been to, Murakami in Covent Garden. You know someone reads your blog when they suggest your favourite cuisine.

We both went for bento box sets, I chose the Marakami VIP which included edamame, rice, salmon teriyaki, salmon avocado rolls and prawn, salmon and tuna nigiri. A fairly simple choice but very enjoyable and just about the right amount of food. Sushi at Murakami
Emma had the Murakami Deluxe encompassing edamame, rice, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, beef chilli relish, chicken yakitori and miso aubergine. Both our sets were reasonably priced but there was also a lunch offer for £9.99 which is such good value for a sushi restaurant in London. We talked about blogging (obvs), upcoming travel plans and places to explore in London, it was so lovely to get to know Emma better as though we’ve met a few times we’ve never had a ‘blate’ (blogger date) with just us.Murakami Interior DSC_0337 DSC_0347Murakami Interior
We both liked the restaurant’s cool over-sized light bulbs and the light and modern interior which according to the website pays homage to the five elements of Japanese philosophy: fire from the grill, water from fish, earth from the crockery, wind form the plants and sky from the bright and friendly environment. I was telling Emma how Japan is on my wanderlust wish list for the future and I enjoyed hearing about some of her adventures there, including her pinch me moment.

A lovely lunch with great food and company and I’m looking forward to seeing Emma and a couple of our blogging buddies for brunch in a couple of weeks
