Back in the Summer, I was lucky enough to experience Fortnum & Mason’s famous Afternoon Tea at the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. As I strolled up to the tea salon I wondered through the department store thinking…
‘It may be just a department store…but it’s certainly a beautiful one…’
Of course…Fortnum’s is not just a department store it has a whole history going back to 1707 and past tied up in the explosion of trade in Britain. Fortnum’s and their beautiful products have become iconic in London and their Christmas hampers are synonymous with the festive season.
When Fortnum’s contacted me about doing a giveaway with them in connection with their pop-up Christmas Arcade, I had to head down to Somerset House to see it for myself.
Remember to scroll to the end of the post for a fabulous festive giveaway!!
The first thing I saw was Fortnum’s beautiful tree framed by the grand structure of Somerset House. So I stepped up to take a closer look…
Adorable mini hampers hung on the boughs amongst the sparkling baubles…
….and beyond that was the glittering ice rink and the beautiful house itself.
But with Jack Frost nipping at my nose somewhat…it was time to get down to business and check out the arcade.
The arcade was actually a mini version of Fortnum & Mason’s flagship store on Piccadilly.
It was beautifully decorated and there fifteen rooms carrying a selection of Fortnum’s Christmas goodies…
‘Oooh…I could do all my Christmas shopping here’ I thought.
First I walked into the ‘Gifts for Her’ Room…
…and saw fluffy earmuffs perfect for my sister…
…and a furry hat for my best friend.
In the ‘Gifts for Him’ room I found…
leather gloves for my dad….
And a shaving brush for Mr S.
And in the scent room there were some perfect presents for my mum.
The children’s room had some great cuddly toys for my nephew, including our old friend:
Then I wondered into the food section and found my present(s)
And room after room of delicious goodies.
Even a whole room devoted to chocolate!
And Fortnum’s famous hampers were on display to get some great ideas for pressies…
Now of course I couldn’t really get my mum, dad, sister, best friend, Mr S and nephew those gifts as they are all avid readers of my blog (I hope!) and I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise.
But I do have a gift for you my lovely readers. Oh yes, a festive giveaway!!! Fortnum’s have generously given one of their Frost Fayre Hampers, worth £250.
