When you first get engaged there’s always such a flurry of excitement, champagne drinking, present receiving and, most of all, dreaming of your perfect day…
When Mr Silver proposed it was one of the best days of my life but reality set in when we started the planning process. I’d planned many events before but never a wedding… and certainly not my own wedding! Choosing the venue came first, closely followed by the band and the dress… the whole thing was rather overwhelming and took lots of research and very careful planning.
But some of the best advice I received was from friends and acquaintances. I chose my florist, photographer and lighting through glowing word-of-mouth recommendations.
When Eve Brill contacted me recently about her new website, Guide To Be, I knew it was a great solution for brides-to-be looking for personal recommendations. The Guide To Be community is the first UK website dedicated to user reviews of wedding suppliers, if I’d had such a resource it would have saved me hours of internet googling and wedding magazine trawling.
Eve came up with the idea for the guide while planning her own wedding last year and became frustrated by the lack of wedding review sites. After her wedding whirlwind was over she teamed up with her sister to launch Guide To Be in order to help other brides to plan their dream day.
Writing a review is very simple, all you need to do is write a few words about yourself, the company you are reviewing and your experience with them.

Add a couple of photos and done! Your words of wisdom and sage advice have been passed on to a newbie bride-to-be so she knows what suppliers are hot and which one’s are not!! The new website doesn’t just help us London brides. Eve has launched her fab go-to guide in Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff and Glasgow too, plus there’s the opportunity to put your own city on the map!
