Well the answer to the title is not a lot… with August being traditionally the quietest month of the year my inbox was quiet and my diary was pretty sparse but even so I still had some fun times that I thought I’d recap here!
My life lately… Quiet! But I’ve been able to spend lots of time with my nephews and shout out to little Jackson who turns 1 year old on Tuesday…. Charlie and I went to see The Incredibles 2 at the cinema which I highly recommend!!
Where I’ve been eating… I checked out the new restaurant from the Daisy Green Collection, Scarlett Green in Soho for some hearty Aussie food.
I returned to one of my absolute favourite restaurants, Hutong at the Shard to sample the 5th Anniversary menu along with Emma and Binny.
I was lucky enough to visit Coworth Park twice, once for a blogger reunion and once for a pretty pink picnic with Laurent Perrier.
I also headed to two-Michelin starred Le Gavroche as part of a paid partnership with The Balvenie and met chef patron and all round nice guy, Michel Roux Jr.
Where I’ve been afternoon teaing… This was the summer of afternoon tea and I think I ended up going at least six times! In August it was a trip to the Savoy in combination with my first time visiting the Silver Vaults.
And the a massive tick off my London bucket list when I was invited to the Tale as Old as Time afternoon tea at the Kensington Hotel. I’d been wanting to go for ages but it’s very hard to get a booking so I felt super lucky to be invited to a bloggers event.
What I wore… Easily the dress that got the most attention both on Instagram and the blog was my Majolica print Dolce & Gabbana sun dress which I think is now one of the my favourite things that I own. You’ll be see a lot of of this one with my upcoming trips!
What I read… This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor – a brilliant insight into life working as an NHS doctor. I can highly recommend this book which was both laugh out loud funny and totally bitter sweet.
What I watched… The first series of Love Island on Netflix – don’t judge. Also I’m dipping in and out of Celebrity Big Brother. I’ve been a fan of Big Brother since it started on Channel 4 eighteen years ago (OMG) but I do now think the series has had it’s day and even as a once super fan I can’t really be bothered to watch any more.
Where I’ve Travelled… It’s really been a quiet old summer for me. If we go for short breaks Mr S and I would usually go over the weekend but we were pretty much at home every weekend over July and August. But for bank holiday we packed our bags again and headed to the Isle of Wight – my first time there since I was 11 years old! I have a post coming up about what I did on the Isle so stay tuned!
Where I will be Travelling… After a quiet summer it’s all kicking off again! The first weekend of September I will be heading to Morocco on an individual press trip with Original Travel. I haven’t been to Morocco for around ten years and I can’t wait to see how it’s changed. I’ll be heading to Marrakech for the third time in my life and up to the Atlas mountains for the first time and it’ll be all new to Mr S who has never been to either. Just over a week after we get back from Morocco, we’ll be heading off on a personal holiday to Greece to celebrate Mr S’s 40th birthday!! I’m still not going to reveal too many details as everything has been kept as a surprise but I can’t wait for him to see what I have planned.
Favourite Instagram Account of the Month… I’ve loved following Lauren’s beautiful trip to Paris and what’s she’s been up to in London.
