Five Family-Friendly Restaurants in Bournemouth

Looking for somewhere in Bournemouth to please big and little foodies? Here are my favourite suggestions.

South Beach – is the main restaurant at The Nici and the space it is light and airy with bold prints and art work. We enjoyed Whispering Angel on the outside terrace and fresh seasonal seafood such as South Coast scallops, fish and chips, lobster pappardelle and fish stew.

Old Harry Rocks – the other restaurant at The Nici. A rustic interior with a beach shack feel and sun filled terrace. Right by the pool with a view to the sea. Food is Mediterranean-inspired and we enjoyed most of what we tried such as oysters, cod, steak etc.

Rockwater – the perfect place for lunch if you’re having a day at the beach. There’s an indoor space, outdoor and roof terrace. We loved the fresh fish on the menu and there’s a pizza oven.

The Crab – casual but elegant. The best food we had. We loved the crab itself, mussels, catch of the day and spaghetti vongole.ย

Harry Ramsdens – A chain but probably the most famous fish and chip chain there is. The food isn’t gimmicky, its simple, honest and good.ย The fish and chips is the signature dish but there’s light options such as salads and fillet of seabass.
