Top Six Luxurious Spots to View the Eiffel Tower

I’ve been to Paris a few times now but I always get a little thrill when I first see the most famous monument in the French capital. Here are six ways to view the Eiffel Tower in comfort and style. top-places-to view-the-eiffel-tower
1. From a romantic restaurant

Les Ombres, located on the top floor of the Musée du Quai Branly, is a gorgeous restaurant with one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. top-places-to view-the-eiffel-tower
Large windows allow for an almost unobstructed view of the iconic tower and in the summer there’s a wide terrace perfect for drinks with a view. The menu strikes a great balance between fine dining and classic French brasserie-style cooking and the food is totally delicious – it’s definitely not a place that is all about the view! I’d love to return one day to see the tower all lit up at night and the glittering lights of Paris as a backdrop. Though I didn’t try them myself other restaurants with a view of the tower that were recommended include La Ciel de Paris, Georges and Maison Blanche.

2. From the River Seine

A couple of years ago Mr S and I stayed at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée and we were able to hire their private boat for a cruise on the River Seine. We ate pastries and drank champagne with the gorgeous back drop of the Eiffel Tower as we floated under the famous bridges of Paris. The Seine passes right through the centre of Paris so it’s the perfect place to see other key landmarks such as Louvre Museum and Notre Dame whilst gently gliding along. There are lots of options for seeing Paris from the water such as dinner cruises, champagne tasting or brunch check out these ideas on Viator.

3. From Place de la Concorde

Place de la Concorde is the largest square in Paris and if you stand in the centre you can feel fully absorbed in the romance of Paris. Not only can you see the Eiffel Tower but you’ll also be able to spy the Seine, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées. Plus it’s the location of the Luxor Obelisk, a gift from Egypt that dates back 3,300 years.

4. From Montmartre

Sometimes the little secret spots are the best – the perfect place to sneak a French kiss with a view of the Eiffel Tower when no-one else is watching…DSC_6294
On our recent trip to Paris our tour guide showed us this secret spot on avenue Junot. It felt so hidden away and special – a little sanctuary away from the busy areas of Montmartre. If you go even further up to the top of Montmartre hill to the highest point of the city there is a panoramic view of Paris from the Sacré-Couer Basilica.Top-places-to-view-the-eiffel-tower
5. From a luxury hotel room

From our gorgeous hotel room at iconic luxury hotel Le Meurice, Mr S and I had the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower – beautiful both by night and by day…best-places-to-view-the-eiffel-tower best-places-to-view-the-eiffel-tower

From the gorgeous Eiffel Tower View suites it looks like you could almost touch the tower! I’ve never been to the hotel myself but just imagine having breakfast on the terrace with that incredible view. My favourite hotel in Paris, the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, also has stunning suites with a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower and  the most beautiful interiors.

6. From the Michelin-Starred Restaurant inside the Eiffel Tower

Le Jules Verne is Alain Ducasse’s Michelin-Starred restaurant located 125 metres high on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Ok – so when you’re in the tower you don’t actually have a view of it but being surrounded by the iron struts of the Eiffel Tower with the glittering lights of Paris below is truly an exceptional dining experience.
