With less then three weeks until I head to Bali I thought I’d do a little throwback to the first time I went…
If you’ve read book (or seen the film) Eat, Pray Love, you’ll already know that Bali is a paradise landscape that is almost magical in its beauty…
I visited six years ago and the country has been through many changes since then but I’ll always hold it in my memory as simply the most exquisite place I’ve ever been.
I stayed at the Bulgari Hotel, which to this day is still the most amazing beach side hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
Bulgari is synonymous with luxury and it was truly beautiful…
The incredible hotel sprawled across the natural landscape with its gorgeous pools and stunning public areas…
Our room was of course, beautiful and absolutely huge with its own private pool…
Decked out in dark wood following the traditional Balinese style. The Bulgari also houses two restaurants: Il Ristorante, serving Italian food and the more casual Sangkar serving Balinese food. I’m planning on recapturing some memories with dinner at Il Ristorante when I return in a couple of week.
Last time we also visited the majestic rice field and beautiful countryside of the island and this time I’m planning a tour of Ubud and some of the significant cultural sights on the island.
When I return to Bali, next month I’ll be staying in Jimbaran Bay, Ubud and Uluwatu… I’d love some personal recommendations and tips for these areas. We have our hotels booked but restaurants and sightseeing ideas would be great, I’d love for you to share any Bali blog posts in the comments.
