SilverSpoon On Honeymoon: Romance in Central Park

A beautiful sunny day in New York City called for a stroll through Central Park.
Obviously many people had the same idea as us!

We stopped to check out some talented street performers….
And the Bethesda fountain, one of the biggest fountains in New York. The Angel of the Water’s sits on top of the fountain which commemorates the first fresh water system in New York.

Time for lunch, we stopped at the beautifully tranquil and picturesque restaurant, The Loeb Boathouse.
The Boathouse is the only venue in Manhattan located right on the lake.

The views were stunning and it was the perfect location for a romantic brunch.

Brunch took a raw fish theme:
Starting with a shared salmon ceviche…

…and tuna carpaccio.

I chose the smoked fish platter as my main course
Mr Silver eschewed the raw fish theme with a roast chicken dish. The food was delicious and paired with such a gorgeous and relaxing view, we really were having a lovely time. A slight word of warning…the portions were huge and we saw plates piled high with French toast, pancakes and waffles. I was glad I’d ordered a lighter choice as we had plans for dinner in the evening.
Feeling full of the food of love, we decided to do one of the quintessential romantic New York experiences:

A carriage ride through the park

It was so beautiful and tranquil I didn’t want to leave our little horse drawn cart 🙂
