Laurent-Perrier’s Midsummer Terrace at Mondrian London

When I think of summer in London, I immediately think of gorgeous restaurants with terraces or rooftops… long lunches with a glass (or two) of something cold and the great British sunshine on my skin… New for this year is Laurent-Perrier’s Midsummer Terrace at Mondrian London. Well, a glass of my favourite bubbly at a gorgeous luxury hotel on the banks of the River Thames sounded just the way to spend a London weekend.
Located on a terrace just outside the hotel’s restaurant Sea Containers, there’s a perfect view of St Paul’s Cathedral to enjoy whilst sipping your bubbly. Pretty touches of pink and flowers on the table compliment the colours of  Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé, in homage to the 50th anniversary of the iconic Rosé champagne.
Come for lunch or dinner Monday to Friday or dinner Saturday or Sunday to try the bespoke menu of three courses paired with champagne or do as we did and come for Sunday brunch paired with bottomless drinks such a bellinis, Bloody Marys or juices.

Ordering up a couple of glasses of rosé, we picked the perfect pairing for the strawberry notes of the drink and opted for a seafood platter to share.
Mr S and I don’t like having to fight for our food and spend ages cracking crab legs but the waiter reassured us it was all done already. The platter features a whole lobster, king crab, oysters and a stunning bloody Mary spiced scallop carpaccio served with lime mayo, lemon and shallot vinaigrette. The seafood itself was delicious and the perfect light lunch for a warm weekend, however priced at £75, I would have expected to see a bit more on the plate.
We absolutely loved the kick of the marinated meatballs with tomato sauce, smoked paprika and pickled jalapeño, this was the dish of the day for me. We also very much enjoy a pot of Quinoa salad with vegetable and avocado foam.

The terrace is open through out summer and is the perfect place for sunshine and bubbly!
