April Adventures: Monthly Round Up and WIN a case of Prosecco

Life Lately: With just under two weeks until our big Asian adventure, Mr S and I have been gearing up for our holiday. Well…I’ve been preparing spreadsheets, booking restaurants and making lists and Mr S has been buying new t-shirts… Anyway we’re both incredibly excited to soon be trying authentic Japanese food, lying on the beach in Pamalican Island and checking out some of the glamorous bars in Hong Kong.

As usual I’ve been having lots of fun with other bloggers including breakfast with Honey, from The Girl Next Shore…we treated ourselves to a girlie morning at The Dorchester. I met up with Honey again the following week as well as Aftab, Emma and Catherine to see in the springtime and to raise a glass to Catherine’s birthday at Vista BarIMG_7314
In other bloggy news, I was once again listed as one of Vuelio’s top UK luxury travel bloggers, this time up a couple of places to number five. Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 11.38.08
I’ve also starting giving talks and workshops, including a recent introduction to lifestyle blogging for Ladies in Blogging, a networking group for women who want to learn more about the subject. I’ve got some more coming up so watch this space!

Restaurants: It’s been a month of sushi (isn’t it always?) and I enjoyed absolutely outstanding meals at Yashin Ocean House, Koji and the sakura set menu at Sake No Hana.

On the European side, I’ve enjoyed Michelin-star meals at Pied à Terre and Bonham’s, a very colourful lunch at Rabbit and a delicious afternoon tea at The Landmark Hotel.

Travel: I’ve been away lots lately with a trip to Paris to experience food, art and spa time with Mandarin Oriental, Paris. There was no time to unpack as I then headed straight to Florence for my best friend’s wedding staying at the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze. It was quite honestly one of the most beautiful wedding’s I’ve ever been to and Anna made a stunning bride. DSC_0839DSC_0814DSC_0832
Soon after we got back from Florence, I was off to Provence to experience the food and hospitality of the Benvengudo Hotel – my full write up will be on the blog shortly. May will be dominated by my big Asian adventure so follow me on Instagram and look out for the hashtag #SilverSpoonTakesAsia.

Blog Love: Massive social media love goes to Randy LaFontaine and his gorgeous Instagram account that documents his life in St Lucia. Randy and I have kept in touch since I visited St Lucia and he’s currently developing a gorgeous new website, St Lucia Travel, for visitors to his beautiful island. Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 17.06.03
Some of my favourite bloggers have been to some gorgeous and enviable locations such as Suze’s trip to Iceland, Fiona’s cruise along the Nile and Jayne’s honeymoon in the Maldives. Also check out my Luxury Guide to Las Vegas, a guest post on Hippie in Heels.

Competition

There’s nothing better than bubbles at spring time and I’ve teamed with Premier Estates Wines to give away a case of their Prosecco Extra DryDSC_3295
Of course, a taste test is important before I give anything away to my readers and Mr S and I tried a bottle glass or two last night to check that it was fit for consumption. It passed my rigorous tests and I loved the refreshing and citrussy flavours that would pair perfectly with some delicious seafood or with desserts. DSC_3315
